MAPATO;Is a Swahili word meaning ( Earnings).After working for a whole day, every one expects to earn something to enhance their living standard.

GROUP MOTTO Tujitahidi tufukuze umaskini (poverty alleviation) MISSION To equip the community with a tangible purchasing power by exploring our un-tapped resources and dissemination of positive information to the community. VISION To be the group of choice here within and without

LEADERSHIP The group is run by a five member (5) elected committee and one Financial Advisor/Book keeper. The Coordinator/Chairperson is in charge of coordinating all the organization activities, and he/her is a Mandatory Account signatory. The Chairperson is in charge of meetings, and the bridge of the members with the Executive Committee. The Secretary is the one with all organization legal matters, takes minutes, and a signatory. The treasurer deals with all financial, matters and records, also a signatory. The Financial advisor. He/She advises the Organization on financial matters.The group has 4committees.namely Management (5),Finance (3),procurement (3),and Monitoring (3),all trained on leadership skills and financial matters. .

MANDATE

The group has the mandate to cut across the Tana River County NETWORKING The group networks with other registered Groups.It collaborates with N.G.Os; line Ministries and state corporations. OBJECTIVES

The objective of the group is to alleviate poverty within the area by engaging an income generation activities. By doing so the group will be improving its member’s life in health and education. Mapato Cbo counsellors during counseling/Testing for Discordant couples Activity (Hiv/Aids)

ACTIVITIES

The group plan to attain its objectives by engaging in

1. Income generating activities i.e. agriculture, hand-craft, micro-finance e.t.c.

2. Water management. Conservation. Mapato Members in partnership with Undp/Nema during world Environment day, 2012 held at Tarasaa High School in Tana Delta District of Tana River County.
